Neurodiversity Professional Network

In the fall of 2020, UNT established the Neurodiversity Professional Network as an official Employee Research Group (ERG). ERGs are voluntary, employee-led groups that foster a diverse, inclusive workplace aligned with organizational mission, values, goals, business practices, and objectives. ERG’s are a critical piece of an organization’s diversity and inclusion strategy. The University of North Texas, through the Division of Institutional Equity & Diversity, supports the work of ERGs in the development, support, and retention of employees.

The UNT Neurodiversity Network ERG serves employees that identify as Neurodivergent, as well as allies, and focuses on three areas:

  • Support neurodivergent employees so that they can contribute to the university's mission as effectively as possible;
  • Educate allies so that they can support the work of neurodivergent colleagues from a basis in current, accurate information;
  • Represent neurodivergent employees to the university community so that their value and contributions are recognized.

The group meets on the third Wednesday of each month and also helps to sponsor and support programs related to educating the campus to promote a climate that is more inclusive for those who identify as neurodivergent.
