Training

Purpose: The neurodiversity initiative provides training opportunities to the UNT community to promote awareness, understanding, and acceptance of students, faculty, and staff in our university community who are neurodivergent.
Our training initiatives are:

  • Two trainings for UNT employees on UNT Bridge:
    • UNT Neurodiversity Training: Neurodiversity 101 -  This training gives an in-depth description of neurodivergent characteristics and case scenarios of how to best work with and support neurodivergent students. https://unt.bridgeapp.com/learner/courses/d6e008e6/enroll
    • UNT Neurodiversity Training: Positive Behavior Management and Support Modules - This six - module interactive training presents antecendent and consequent strategies for producing positive behavior change, focused on developing relationships through positive, strengths - based interactions. Participants can complete all modules and then re-visit the content of a specific module at subsequent times as needed. https://unt.bridgeapp.com/learner/courses/c605ed7b/enroll
  • Invited Speaker Series - A distinguished speaker in neurodiversity is invited to speak annually to the UNT community. Prior speakers include Dr. Margaret Price of Ohio State University and John Elder Robinson, faculty at William and Mary College and Landmark College.
